The Gold Coast’s only specialty charcoal rotisserie chicken shop offers a deliciously elevated take on the humble rotisserie chook—and that’s not all. Bird Royale, the purveyor of crispy, succulent charcoal chicken is perched at Brickworks Ferry Road and the vibrant day-and-night venue slings up an array of wholesome salads, gluten-free fried chicken, made-to-order sandwiches and burgers and of course, its signature charcoal chicken.

Meda Deli is Mermaid Beach's sweet new artisan deli championing the zero-waste movement and slinging up an incredible array of European-inspired delicatessen products. With a heavy focus on sustainability, Meda Deli aims to establish itself as a leader in high-end artisanal products and simultaneously educate its customers by showcasing produce that is geared towards net-zero. 

FINEPRINTCO Art Bar is an upmarket art gallery-meets-cocktail bar that seamlessly blends the creativity of handcrafted cocktails with fine art. The elegant establishment is located within Brickworks Ferry Road and is the brainchild of the owners of St Barts and Gallery One, Jasmine Smith and Leanne Pearce. So yes, they know what they’re doing.

Some like it hot and NBHD Hot is definitely the hot spot for those intrepid folks. The Gold Coast’s first dedicated infrared hot pilates studio, NBHD Hot really turns things up with a fusion of strength training and pilates designed to sculpt, strengthen and tone, all while in an infrared heated room.

Set 30 Studio (aka S30 for those in the know) has recently swung open its doors in Mermaid Beach and we could not be more excited for this unique group weight and hybrid training studio to call the Gold Coast home. 

It’s been two years since Gold Coast institution Melbas shut its doors and finally, a luxe new venue has opened on the site and we couldn't be more excited. The sophisticated The Beverly has just opened its doors and is already bringing chic L.A. vibes to the Glitter Strip. The Gold Coast is definitely in no shortage of trendy coffee shops but when you hear that a retro coffee caravan turned speciality coffee lounge has opened up a second location, you check it out ASAP. 

It’s no secret that bagels are making a major comeback and we’re here for it. A good bagel has the power to make an ordinary day great and O Bagel in Broadbeach is certainly doing that for their hordes of bagel-loving followers.

Grab your gang, because Suzy BBQ, nestled in the heart of Burleigh Heads, is the funky Korean BBQ house we’ve all been waiting for. From the vintage Korean posters lining the walls to the red Coca-Cola chairs on the footpath to the vibrant atmosphere, everything about Suzy BBQ is eccentric, fun and something the Gold Coast hasn't seen before.

Drift into relaxation aboard Queensland’s first luxury floating hotel, Drift Flotel. Step aboard the luxurious three-storey, 12 metre vessel and you’ll soon feel like you’re floating away on some far tropical nirvana. The grandly furnished space features everything you’d expect from a fully self-contained luxury house, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an expansive kitchen and lounge room, a wraparound deck and stunning rooftop terrace, which is perfect for downing a few cocktails while watching the sunset.

Down the south end of town, nestled away in the heart of Burleigh Heads, lies an upmarket deli, wine and grocer delighting the gourmets of the Gold Coast.

Sitting pretty on the corner of the iconic Nobbys strip, comes newcomer Zephyr Kitchen & Bar, but it’s not just your average Nobbys joint. Sure, it’s got the prime location, the trendy vibe and the impressive cocktail list to boot, but Zephyr sure is mixing up things on the south end of town.

If pillowy bao buns, artfully arranged sashimi and finger-lickingly good karaage chicken are right up your alley, then KAMI Burleigh is where it’s at. This Burleigh newcomer has already set tongues wagging in the Gold Coast hospitality scene, and once you step into the breezy, white-washed space it’s easy to see why.  

With sweeping views out over the ocean, it’s no surprise Palm Beach Surf Club has earned a place as one of our fave venues on the Gold Coast. The relaxed, laid-back vibes wafting from the restaurant instantly make guests feel welcome, enabling them to easily set their worries aside for as long as they choose to dine. Better still, the beachfront bar and restaurant boasts a keen emphasis on local, sustainable produce, so you can enjoy your meal without the added serve of guilt. We’re talking carbon-neutral beef suppliers, meat-free burger alternatives, and produce sourced from only the best local farmers. 

If you love deep-fried potato just as much as we do, you’ll want to swing by Mr Potato on our next trip down the coast. The venue offers a modern spin on your traditional baked potato, prepared with only the freshest ingredients from their famous pre-loaded menu. 

Pasta, pizza, and wine—the Italians certainly know how to live. If you’re a fan of  the divine cuisine that is Italian food (and let’s face it, who isn't?) then make a beeline to Sogno Italiano in Mermaid Waters.

Step inside Hazel Espresso and you’ll quickly forget you’re in the heart of Southport. The gorgeous, caramel-hued cafe is like a hug from an old friend—welcoming, warm and exactly what you were missing.

If there’s one thing we can't get enough of it’s a crisp glass of vino. And if said vino comes from a gram-worthy vineyard nestled in the heart of the countryside, well, we’re packing our bags and making tracks there stat! Which is why we’re just a little bit obsessed with Ravenscroft Vineyard, Stanthorpe’s coolest boutique vineyard.

Authentic Italian is the name of the game at Double Zero Robina. There is no doubt the Gold Coast is incredibly spoiled in the Italian restaurant department and Double Zero is a testament to that. Tucked just off the main drag of the Promenade at Robina Town Centre, this traditional Italian restaurant is full of authentic flavours and bang-on woodfire pizzas. With laid back vibes, a welcoming interior and Italian just like nonna makes, Double Zero has earned its reputation as a Gold Coast favourite. 

You just can’t beat healthy competition paired with interactive bowling lanes and a smorgasbord of food and lucky for Surfers Paradise locals, the fun legends at Timezone have just opened the doors to Zone Bowling. 

Wander past Tarte Bakery & Cafe in Burleigh Heads and you'll immediately feel the collision of Parisian and New York style in the forward-facing tables that hug a grand, charcoal grey custom-built façade—typical of establishments found in NYC’s fashionable SoHo and West Village districts. Brass accents are scattered throughout, from vintage train luggage racks stacked with bread to the trim on the custom La Marzocco coffee machine. Other design elements worth lingering to appreciate include mid-century pendant lights shipped over from Amsterdam and the 100-year-old movie theatre counter repurposed as the cafe’s main display counter. The overall result is refined, elegant yet oh so welcoming.  

Cali Beach Club has taken the Gold Coast by storm, solidifying its place as the Coast’s undisputed hottest beachside haven. If this wasn’t enough already, they’re adding another jewel to their burgeoning crown—a high end, modern Japanese restaurant and bar. 

If there's one thing the Gold Coast is never short on, it’s breweries. But one thing she hasn’t seen before is a seltzer brewery. In fact, no one has. The world’s first immersive hard seltzer brewery has hit the Gold Coast and we’re ready for the fizz-tivities to begin.

In case you missed the memo, the salad game is changing and the Gold Coast is leading the charge. In our glorious beachside paradise, nothing hits the spot quite like a refreshing summer salad and we might have just found your new favourite salad joint.

Starting their Queensland presence in Clayfield late last year, the gourmet food market has recently opened its flavour-filled doors on the Isle of Capri. At their first Gold Coast store, you can expect a gourmet grocery section of boutique local products, an extensive deli and more than 400 cheeses displayed in their famous Cheese Lane. Cheese Lane is a thing and we're here for it.

Quickly earning itself a cult following on the Gold Coast, the line frequently snaking out the door and the full tables at Matteo’s Woodfired Pizza are testament to Matteo Finotto, the culinary genius behind this Italian gem. A cosy hidden gem in Clear Island Waters and one of the best Italian restaurants on the Gold Coast, Matteo’s is dishing up Italian just like Nonna made. 

If you haven’t visited The Star Gold Coast recently, then consider this your call to action, ‘cause you’re seriously missing out. The latest newcomer to their incredible array of dining destinations, Uncle Su is The Star’s new flagship Chinese restaurant and serves up impressive classic Cantonese cuisine, with innovative twists inspired by local Australian ingredients. 

Like a breath of fresh air, No. 35 Cabarita has blown into the sleepy seaside haven of Cabarita and has certainly blown us away. This modern Italian restaurant brings coastal summer vibes and traditional Italian delicacies with a twist to northern New South Wales and we can’t get enough of it.

Magnolia Lane is a newly opened cafe that commands the corner of the Gold Coast Highway and Fire Avenue in Burleigh Heads and has been turning heads with its wholesome message. A bold feature wall reminds us to be grateful every day and, boy, we are grateful for Magnolia Lane. Bringing good vibes, wholesome meals and top-notch coffee to Burleigh, this laidback eatery is ticking all our boxes.

Good news, Gold Coast: we are getting our very own souffle pancake cafe and we’re flipping out. The sky-high souffle pancakes first gained a cult following in Japan before spreading their cloud-like magic across the globe, and now, to the Gold Coast.

It seems like every time we blink, something delicious pops up at Sanctuary Cove and this month’s newbie is a gorgeous new gelato place called Rosé Gelateria.

Just when we thought we’d seen and tasted it all, the crew at D Point Ten decided to bake a croissant in a waffle pan and load it up with toppings and now we’re here: meet the Croffle. Part croissant, part waffle, this new delicacy can be found at Croffee, a small cafe where you can get your croffle fix along with coffee (hence the Croffee—duh). Whether it’s drizzled with chocolate or stacked with ham and cheese (yep, we’re not making this up), you’ll have to pick one of these babies up for yourself to see whether it lives up to the hype.

Slip off your shoes, exhale and let any stress melt away when you step foot into the stunning new health sanctuary sprinkling its calming magic around the Gold Coast. Nestled in lush seaside escape Casuarina, Kalm Springs is an indulgent seaside health spa that is all about healing, rejuvenation and wellness from within.

Having made their mark on the Gold Coast dining scene with their hearty-as-ever plant-based ramen, i like ramen have recently jujed up their beloved menu of 100% vegan Japanese fusion eats, and the results are just as delicious as they are aesthetically pleasing. Fear not, all your old favourites (such as the cult favourite white miso + chick’n ramen) are still on the menu, just with some fresh twists and new innovations thrown into the mix.

Capricorn Distilling Co. is Burleigh’s newest small-batch urban distillery and this newcomer to the craft spirits scene is already making waves. Recently opening its doors in Burleigh Heads, Capricorn Distilling Co. was originally established in Rockhampton, under the well-loved Saleyards Distillery name. Following their success, the masterminds behind this gem decided to expand production and bring their delicious tipples to the Gold Coast and we sure aren’t complaining. 

Gold Coasters went wild when we broke the news of the opening of the brand new HOTA Gallery, and rightly so. If you haven’t checked out the stunning new venue yet, well we’ve got one more reason why you need to. 

Who doesn’t love a good paint and sip session? It’s hard to go wrong when you’ve got that magic combo of good company, wine, art and killer tunes.

Tucked just off the main drag of James Street, Ra Ra Ramen is a funky new craft ramen bar slinging up authentic bowls of slurp-worthy goodness. Using only fresh, ethically sourced ingredients to deliver traditional Japanese ramen (without the nine-hour flight), you can taste the love in every element of their dishes, from the noodles made fresh in house everyday to the locally grown fresh produce.

Hidden down an alleyway off Burleigh's bustling James Street lies Oi Izakaya, a Japanese eatery that's totally worth hunting down. With an unassuming entrance, one foot inside and you’ll feel like you’ve stumbled upon a legit izakaya in a small Asian village. 

Cardamom Pod is the OG of vegetarian eating in the heart of Broadbeach, where you can enjoy a weekend breakfast array of Insta-worthy waffles, pancakes, mermaid and acai bowls. They've also always had options for lunch and dinner, like vegetarian salads and hot savoury meals like shepherd’s pie, lasagne, curries, dahl and moussaka, but recently they've upped their dining game and we're loving it.

Amid the hustle and bustle of the northern suburbs lies a sweet newcomer bringing stellar coffee to our grateful northern Gold Coast friends. Nestled in Highland Park, Hudson & Rosie’s Table is a bright, breezy breath of fresh air and is mixing things up with their top-notch brews and luscious menu. 

Don’t be fooled by the “wine bar” denomination—Destino has a few little tricks up its sleeve. By day it masquerades as a homewares store and espresso bar, and at night it turns into a vibing wine and tapas bar, without being gimmicky—it can be hard to flawlessly transition between three different specialties so seamlessly, but Destino does it well.

Sofia’s Restaurant and Bar is a homage to the dreamy tones of coastal Europe and brings a breath of fresh, salty sea breeze air to the Broadbeach dining scene. Sofia’s draws you in from the moment you spot it. The stunning fit-out is classic European with a contemporary twist—whitewashed walls, exposed brick, touches of wood and pops of colour, all designed to transport you to slow, serene summers on the French Riviera.

If there’s one thing Gold Coasters are obsessed with, it’s gelato. And if there’s one thing we need, it’s an authentic Italian gelateria, serving up beachside scoops of deliciousness.
