This matcha utopia creates all their syrups in-house, with specialities like salted caramel, chai, blueberry and their iconic strawberry. The only problem you’ll face in this slice of heaven is how much matcha you can devour in one day. 

Shiro Gelato & Snack

It’s no secret that we’re obsessed with Shiro Gelato & Snack. From their delicious mochi-covered gelato to their authentic onigiri, just thinking about their menu has us salivating. 

And the best part? They offer . Gelato, soda, or just over ice; they’ve got us matcha-lovers covered. They take great pride in sourcing the highest quality matcha from Kyoto, Japan. We think we can taste the difference.

If you’re after a bold matcha with a sweet undertone, Hazel Espresso is the place to go. Their iconic , where frothed matcha is poured over a frozen coffee sphere, is enough to have us journeying to the northern end of the Coast. 

Whether you prefer it hot or over ice, their matcha (much like the rest of their menu) is on point. When you next find yourself in Southport, popping in for a sweet yet slightly bitter beverage is an absolute must. 

Humble Cafe

Nestled in the heart of Southport, has every right to boast about its specialty drinks, and we are honing in on their matcha. Served up hot or iced, their original matcha is no joke. They also offer a matcha espresso for a morning kick, or strawberry iced matcha for any sweet tooth. 

Their Monet-inspired recreation of the Water Lilies paintings is almost too pretty to drink, with a beautiful combination of sweet potato and matcha. Consider us sold. 

O Bagel

How could we possibly not mention our favourite bagel haunt O Bagel, which has somehow surpassed our already-high expectations by adding matcha to their beloved bagel menu? Located in both Southport and Broadbeach, there’s no reason not to indulge in their wide variety of matcha creations. 

If you simply must get your caffeine in, we love the Forest Matcha fusion, which combines espresso with matcha. Otherwise, keep it simple with their iced option made from authentic matcha from Japan.

The real treat is that, even with an iced matcha, they give the milk a quick blast with the steam wand so that you get that perfect, frothy top. You can even in advance and Buoy is dog-friendly in the outdoor dining space so no one needs to miss out on your morning matcha mission.

The Oxley is the gift that just keeps giving, with Bobby Bangs joining the assortment of trendy food places nestled in this Mermaid Beach atrium. Experience an organic ceremonial matcha made right in front of you as staff whip up various specialities at the counter. 

We’re eager to try the butterfly effect—a butterfly pea-extract infused matcha cloud on top of coconut water, which is one of many unique flavours on their menu. Loyal to , they also use their matcha and cacao powder in a variety of smoothie bowls. Count us in. 

Chanoyu - Japanese Matcha Cafe

As the name suggests, the team at sure knows matcha. In fact, you’ll have trouble choosing from their extensive matcha menu—iced matcha with an espresso shot, anyone? What about Yuzu matcha soda? It almost calls for one of each. 

In case the drinks aren’t enough to convince you, they also offer delectable Japanese-inspired food. Their weekly specials, like matcha Mont Blanc croissants will have you drooling.

BSKT Cafe has withstood the test of time and if you’ve been, you’d understand why. Their health-focussed ethos aligns well with their fitness-loving audience, which is why we reckon’ they’re one of the best cafes on the Gold Coast.

As such, it’s only natural that they’re serving up an antioxidant and mineral rich beverage like matcha, and one that’s good enough to make our list, no less.

If you’ve been to in Robina you’ll know that, on top of their stunning interiors and chic nail salon, they also make some incredible ceremonial-grade matcha. Hot or iced, try your best to pick between flavours like strawberry, banana bread, brown sugar, and blueberry; you’re guaranteed to find something scrumptious to sip on.

We recommend grabbing a matcha and cosying up with a friend at one of their window seats. Or better yet, with a book if you’re flying solo—it’s a surefire way to fill up your self-care cup.

Their latest development serves up your green goodness in a can, the perfect and mess-free way to have matcha on the go. Safe to say you will catch us refreshing for the latest specials.

Ah, . They just don’t miss. Somewhat of a Gold Coast institution, they seem to be in a league of their own. So, of course, they make an impeccable matcha.

Sticking to the more traditional style of matcha, theirs is a perfectly rounded flavour with a bitter finish. We like to have ours as intended if it’s iced, but when we opt for a hot matcha latte, we get a little honey on the side—it’s like a big hug.

Are we dreaming, or did Currumbin just casually drop another ultra-aesthetic matcha haven? is the newest kid on the block, and yes—they did say they’re “worth getting a park for” ( honestly, we’re backing that confidence). This sleek little café is giving big-time cool with minimalist interiors, lush greenery, and a menu that’s basically a love letter to matcha.

From the rich and slightly salty iced miso caramel matcha to the dreamy, pillowy coconut matcha cloud, choosing just one is a serious challenge. Don’t skip the baked goods either—their cookies are soft, chewy, and practically made for pairing with your green-hued brew. If you’re a matcha obsessive or just in it for the aesthetics, Lobby is one Currumbin pitstop that absolutely deserves a spot on your weekend hit list.

If you're chasing that real Japanese matcha flavour, let us point you toward a hidden gem in Currumbin—. Best known for their deliciously fresh Japanese tapas, this laid-back local fave is also quietly serving one of the most authentic matcha moments on the Coast.

They source their 100% Japanese matcha powder straight from local legends , so you know you're sipping the good stuff. Got a sweet tooth? Treat yourself to their matcha affogato or, for a more traditional twist, try the Deluxe Matcha Latte, complete with tapioca and red bean for a sip that’s equal parts comforting and transportive.
