Singapore is home to many architectural gems and  is definitely one of them. Restored to perfection, the building hails back to 1895, when secret societies, liquor distilleries and underground activity were rampant along the Singapore River.

Industrial accents feature throughout, with the hard edges softened by plants, luxe linens and warm lighting, culminating in the most welcoming retreat from a busy day on the steamy streets. You won’t be sorry for splurging on a river view room.

The onsite restaurant, Po, is your go-to for modern Singaporean-style eats, while The Lobby Bar pays its respects to the property’s past life, offering up sophisticated libations.

Managed by The Ascott Limited,  only recently opened its doors following a refurbishment and rebranding project from the previous Riverside Hotel Robertson Quay. Drawing inspiration from Singapore’s rich heritage, the new hotel was designed to immerse you in the illustrious history of the quay.

Primed with views of the scenic city or the river, all of the 336 rooms and suites are fittingly set against a backdrop print that sets the scene of the Singapore River, while framed visuals that speak of the spice trade dot the walls. We recommend the Panoramic Riverview Rooms which are located on levels five to nine and come with floor-to-ceiling windows.

Entrepôt is the onsite restaurant and features a menu inspired by Anglo-Asian cooking techniques and flavours, while sprawled across the top floor is the 1823 Reading Room which serves as a club lounge. Other facilities include a 25-meter outdoor swimming pool, gymnasium and event spaces decked in colonial charm.
