The Verdict:

There's nothing wrong with taking the slow lane sometimes, especially if it involves coffee and croffles are we right? Enter , a new all-day eatery (and our fave new foodie haven!) from &Sushi founders Isaac Yu and Jeff Kim, located—rather ironically—on the famously busy Great South Road in Greenlane.

This gorgeous space, which oozes relaxed vibes with its many toitoi-like plants, neutral colour palette and breezy indoor/outdoor flow, is a welcome addition to the area and is defo the spot to unwind and indulge your appetite.

There's plenty to sink your teeth into here, from brunch-time classics like granola, avo on toast, and the aforementioned croffles through to tuna ceviche, fried chicken burgers, and prawn linguine, all prepared under the watchful eye of head chef Marvin Choi (ex Euro, Fabric). You'll also find a cabinet laden with beautifully-baked cakes and other treats if—God forbid—taking things slow isn't an option, and you have to run.

And when it comes to coffee, these guys know their stuff—Isaac is an award-winning barista, and all coffee here is sourced, roasted and profiled in-house (we like the mocha, made with a decadent choccy mix featuring melted 80 per cent dark chocolate).

Finally, you should also know that Slowlane is fully licensed, and will be introducing a dinner service in the not-too-distant future (keep an eye on their for the latest details).

Kinfolk

Funny that the first thing I noticed about Kinfolk had little to do with the actual food—rather, it was the artwork on the back wall depicting three women on lilos, eating pasta. I like this place already, had been my immediate thought.
