The Verdict

Porchetta rolls may be a simple concept, but not all are created equal. When we get that craving for salt, crispy, succulent goodness, we're headed straight to Saluministi. Free range slow roasted pork, artichoke paste, pecorino romano and roasted encompassed in a toasted panini—what could be better?

The Dockland's store is their biggest (there are also a couple of hole-in-the-wall sandwich bars in Flinders Lane and The Causeway), and was born out of the team's dream to serve quality salami in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Meanwhile, our childhood dream was to eat quality salami. Each to their own we guess.

That vision later expanded to include a range of old-school Italian dishes like the bruschetta, made with toasted ciabatta, olive tapenade, avocado, tomato, asparagus and fior di latte, and alongside the prosciutto panini with gorgonzola dolce and marinated artichokes. 

You can also drop by for breakfast and choose from a range of paninis, but we find it hard to pass up the poached farro bircher, with sultanas, apple, coconut, figs, seasonal fruit and Italian peaches.

Add onto that an Italian stovetop espresso served with a biscotti, and you're in for a treat.
