THE VERDICT

Shopping centres are picking up their dining game as of late. Last year, Chadstone poured $70 million big ones into the culinary precinct The Social Quarter that boasts chic restaurants like and Cityfields. Now, the sustainable shopping centre in Melbourne’s east is following in similar footsteps by introducing a slick new all-day dining rooftop, .

The sweeping views of the Dandenong Ranges and the lush garden surrounding the alfreso dining is enough to draw you in, whether you were already shopping at Burwood Brickworks or not. The menu is on equal footing, headed up by Head Chef Jerry Yi whose runs on the board include Red Spice Road and Hotel Sorrento’s .

“It’s not just an exciting addition to our robust hospitality offerings but as a testament to our vision to create more than just a shopping centre destination,” said Burwood Brickworks centre manager, Robert Breda.

It’s an all modern-Australian fare, heavily leaning into seasonality and sourcing ingredients from local Victorian producers. Dine for breakfast, lunch and dessert with drink pairings ranging from iced strawberry matchas and soy lattes to cheeky mimosas and local vino. There’s also a dedicated menu for the kiddos including fun plates like buttermilk hotcakes with maple syrup, berries and vanilla ice cream.

Rombe open seven days a week from 8am ‘til 4pm.
