The Details

Affectionately know as PA's, Prince Alfred Hotel is a Richmond local's dream.

With the very welcomed arrival of temperatures above 20 degrees, Melburnians are on the hunt for sun-drenched establishments to eat, drink and thaw out at. Well, hunt no more sun seekers, PA's is home to the ultimate summer beer garden, complete with lush greenery, big umbrellas, more tables than you can poke a stick at and general good summer vibes. This place is the King (or Prince) of alfresco dining, sunny Sunday sessions and late arvo beers with mates.

These guys rep a traditional pub style menu and they do it well. So, if you're looking for a delicious, no muss, no fuss kind of meal then we have found your new favourite pub. For mains, we can't go passed the spaghetti with housemade veal and chicken meatballs or the pulled pork burger with apple slaw, cracking and fries. If you serve us a side of pork crackling, then you have our undivided devotion and loyalty.

They've also got heaps of delicious small plates (think sliders, arancini, calamari), pizzas and salads as well, so if you're not up to committing to a main or you suffer from food envy like us, you and your pals can get around a share-style feed.

Another epic feature of this venue is their weekly specials. Enter: 'Hair of the Dog Sundays', where from 11.30am to 1.30pm, you can head to PA's and recover from a large Saturday with $12 Bloody Mary's. Not only that, you can soak up the sweet sunshine in the lush beer garden with your doggo right by your side, who also scores free puppy snacks. Everyone wins! And let's be real, nothing fixes a hangover better than doggos and a drink.

Other honourable mentions go to; 'Cliquot Hour', which is every hour, and grants you $19 glasses of Veuve, 'Monday Local's Night' where you can order select mains for just $15 and 'Tuesday Trivia Night' that let's you hoe down on a schooner and burger for just $25.

It's safe to say, you could pretty much spend every night of the week here.
