THE VERDICT
205 Bridge Road was previously the residence of a costumier who created garments for the Richmond neighbourhood. But now, the infinite rolls of fabric and various sewing machines have since been removed, and a brand-new, sophisticated diner has taken over.
Say hello to Ms Parker — a rare gem bringing a unique multicultural dining experience to Melbourne. Led by Chef Steve Harry (formerly of Amaru, Auterra and Cumulus Inc), the diner focuses solely on a 'less is more approach' intending to serve quality, seasonal and local produce throughout the refined and sophisticated sharing-style menu.
Chef Harry invites guests to transport themselves into a world of multicultural cuisine through the many different flavours used throughout his dishes. From Egypt to Lebanon, Sudan to France, and Australia to Japan, you'll be taken on a journey around the world in one dinner.
Kick off your dinner with a serving of the 2-day prepped, delicately flavoured Wattleseed and treacle sourdough, then go on to the 7-day prepared Kangaroo tartare on a crispy fried Vegemite Cracker with daikon (now that's Aussie cuisine at its finest).
Change up the flavours with the most unique item on the menu—the Bone Marrow. This signature dish includes locally sourced bone marrow topped with a rich, caramelised miso brûlée (and more daikon). You'll be wanting seconds, that's for sure.
Remember to combine your meal with a glass or two from the extensive wine menu featuring flavours from worldwide regions handpicked by Melbourne-based sommelier Carlin Jackson (formerly of Marion Wine Bar).
If vino isn't your thing, sink a house-made cocktail instead. The smoky passion will take you on a flavour ride, comprising Mezcal, Cointreau, passionfruit, sorrel, lemon, almond, and rosewater orgeat. Or spice up your life with a Tiger Tommy, which combines silky 1800 Tequila Coconut with mango nectar, agave, lemon, and a spike of bird-eye chili.
One thing is certain, you'll need to satiate your sweet tooth with Ms Parker's hot spin on dessert classics. Choose the Laphroaig Whisky Crème caramel flavoured with tonka bean, or the classic pavlova with coconut sorbet, soured apricot and lime. Oh, and remember to thank us later for the recommendation.
Ms Parker is now open daily for breakfast and dinner as well as drinks throughout the day. You don't want to miss this eatery embroidered with a rich history, so jump online and book your table today.
