The Verdict
Casa Nata is the undisputed home of the Portuguese tart in Melbourne. Since opening their Thornbury-based operation they’ve curated a devoted base of tart enthusiasts from all over Melbourne who make the pilgrimage to High Street to sample the top-pedigree creamy custard and crispy tarts.
The purveyors of the flakey pastry treat have just started setting up their southside outpost on Chapel Street in Windsor. This second iteration of Casa Nata will be ready to usher in a new raft of handheld dessert fiends and introduce the area to their signature Portuguese goods.
The new store will retain the same concept as its predecessor in Thornbury, a sleek and minimal design that showcases a full kitchen so you’ll be able to sample the goods with a coffee and watch the entire process unfold, from laminating the pastry to baking in the oven.
Casa Nata is yet to announce when it’s opening its doors, but you can keep an eye out for all their tart related news .
