The verdict
First opening to welcome diners to a Greek escape in 1983, Steki Taverna is one of Sydney’s longest-serving and best Greek restaurants.
Now located a stone’s throw from the Enmore Theatre, Steki Taverna is still serving the wholesome, traditional Greek eats for which it’s loved, with its rowdy live band bringing huge Greek village vibes between 8.30pm and 1am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday—and dancing is still very much encouraged.
Favourites like dolmades, golden fried haloumi and souvlaki plates are all covered, plus slow-roasted lamb, plenty of grilled and fried seafood dishes, moussaka and, of course, a selection of ouzo and mastiha to finish.
