Arthur is a Surry Hills restaurant exuding effortless style and a big sense of community by chef/owner Tristan Rosier (Biota, Est., Dead Ringer and Farmhouse). Ingredients and producers across the set menus and wine list are exclusively Australian, and the culinary style is left broad to allow for influences from global food traditions.

The five-course set menus start with the beloved house-made bread and butter, moving through elegant one-bite snacks, starters, a main and dessert, all drawing from the best seasonal produce. There’s the Arthur menu for $160pp or a chef’s menu for $120pp, and various supplements available—don’t skip the Bruny Island cheese tart if it’s listed.

The drinks offering also has a steadfast commitment to local-only goodness, with classic cocktails using exclusively Australian spirits, and a wine list with diverse varieties and expressions from top and emerging Australian winemakers.

Three zones within the 35-seat Surry Hills restaurant each offer a unique experience, with romantic spots by the Bourke Street window, some coveted stools at the bar, and tables that feel immersed in the efficient and open kitchen space.

Lunch is served from 12.30pm on weekends, with dinner seatings at 6pm, 6.30pm or 8pm Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, and 6pm or 8.30pm on Friday and Saturday.
