For a little side-step from the traditional Sunday roast, you'll want to make a booking at The Apollo this winter. This much-loved modern Greek is doing its take on the classic roast—with kleftiko as the hero dish.
As well as the kleftiko (a large claypot of beef cheek or pork neck to share), the menu also features mezze (olives, dips, and warm pita), grilled yoghurt flatbreads, tomato kritharaki, and baklava ice cream to finish. The Waratah

The Waratah is a fresh take on the neighbourhood bar, spread over two floors of a classic corner terrace in Darlinghurst. Head chef Lewin White (ex-Icebergs, Bistro Moncur, and RE) does finessed Aussie classics like potato scallops topped with raw scallops, pink fairy bread ice cream sandos, a Weis bar-inspired mango and amazake sorbet combo drizzled with mezcal.
Naturally, there's a Sunday roast in the mix, available from 12pm on Sundays until sold out. Your plate comes heaped with Whole Beast Butchery porchetta, crispy hassleback potato, roasted pumpkin, and leek, drizzled in apple and muntrie gravy. Perfection.
Bistro Moncur

With a strong 30-year-plus history, Bistro Moncur is a French institution in Sydney. While they're known for their top-tier service, impressive wine list, and classic can't-go-wrong bistro menu, for winter 2024, they've launched a special Sunday Rosbif.
Available from 12pm-3pm each Sunday at just $45pp, you'll be treated to tender roasted chateaubriand served with fondant potato, braised red cabbage, Vichy carrots, horseradish jus, and one towering Yorkshire pudding.
