It’s Amaretto Sour Month鈥擳hese Are The Venues Getting Around The Italian Tipple

By

End of summer got you craving a taste of la dolce vita? We can't bring back the sun, but we can point you in the direction of a few places where you can live out the Italian summer of your dreams—even if only for a few hours.

The legends behind —the amaretto of choice for a banging Amaretto Sour—are hosting a month of celebrations across some of Sydney's best coastal spots in honour of the Italian tipple. We’ve got the lowdown on where you can get around the action this April, so read on for where to head during Amaretto Sour Month.

Cibaria Manly

55 N Steyne, Manly NSW 2095

When it comes to a taste of la dolce vita,  has the recipe down pat. Bringing the best parts of Euro summer to Manly, here you can spend a sunny afternoon working your way through classic and creative cocktails, platters of antipasti and handmade pastas. And it's not just the menu that’ll transport you to the Amalfi, with a piazza-style patio and breezy interiors.

To celebrate Amaretto Sour Month, Cibaria is offering up a bespoke Disaronno menu for the whole of April. They're serving up an authentic Amaretto Sour made with Disaronno, alongside specials like the Manly Sour with peach, lemon and sugar, and the Sunset Spritz with orange and prosecco.

The Cumberland

17/19 Central Ave, Manly NSW 2095

Hidden behind a fridge door, this  is loved by locals for its extensive cocktail menu. In true speakeasy style, you'll have to place a special order with a bartender for an authentic amaretto sour, and they're keeping mum on their Disaronno signature menu, so you'll have to head down and knock on the fridge door to find out what's on offer.

Head down on Thursday nights for live Hot Jazz and Gypsy Swing—the perfect way to amp yourself up for the weekend. Grab some tapas to share (or not) and vibe the night away with a couple of The Cumberland's twists on an Amaretto Sour.

Rocker

5/39-53 Campbell Parade, North Bondi NSW 2026

is everything you want from a neighbourhood restaurant and bar: the comfort of a home-cooked meal in a laid-back space. Tucked away in Bondi, it's ideal for an after-work drink or post-beach dip Sunday sesh.

Rocker is serving up their classic amaretto sour alongside two special cocktails—perfect for groups who each want to try something different. The Golden Orchard is a sweet tooth's dream with Disaronno, banana liqueur, lemon juice, peated whisky, and aquafaba, and for a savoury-sweet combo, there's the Misoretto with Disaronno, whisky, lemon juice, miso, syrup, and aquafaba.

Margaret

30-36 Bay St, Double Bay NSW 2028

Known for its use of only the best ingredients,  brings a luxe touch to the Amaretto Sour celebrations. Their ingredient-first approach extends naturally to their cocktail offering, and the sour is no exception—keep an eye out on the drinks menu, or ask a bartender to whip up an authentic one using Disaronno.

These delights are only running during April, so you’ve only got a few weeks to hit up the group chat and clear some time in your calendar.
