If you thought Singapore was the perfect place to visit for quality shopping and eating, you’d be right. But it’s also a destination packed with thrills that’ll get your adrenaline pumping.
From swinging at high speeds 40 metres off a beach and swimming with sharks to speeding around a racecar track and riding a duelling coaster, here are 10 ways to feel alive on your next Singapore sojourn.
Go On A Sky High Adventure
Swing through the treetops at 60 kilometres per hour, let your stomach drop on a 15-metre free-fall simulator and climb through obstacles 15 metres above the ground at on Sentosa island. On MegaZip you’ll speed along a 450-metre-long and 75-metre tall zip line right down to beautiful Siloso Beach, while MegaJump replicates a free-fall parachute jump without the risk of broken bones, thanks to a trusty safety wire and harness situation. And if you’re not done with the thrills you can give MegaClimb’s treetop obstacle course a go. But if all that has you feeling queasy, MegaBounce is a little tamer and so fun you won’t even realise you’re jumping 8 metres into the air.
Rocket Through A Rollercoaster On Water
in Sentosa is home to the Riptide Rocket, a hydro-magnetic rollercoaster that’ll have you white-knuckling your tube. A thrilling water-based rollercoaster, expect to plunge, twist, turn and climb at high speed as magnets pull you up the slides that are nestled into treetops.
Skydive Indoors
’s indoor skydiving tunnels have popped up around most Australian cities, but the one in Singapore is hands down the best. Try to catch a glimpse of Sentosa Island out the window as winds at speeds of 230 kilometres per hour float you above ground. Yes, your cheeks will blow out like a chipmunk’s, but that won’t stop you from buying an extra go, so just book in for three turns right from the beginning.
Swim With Sharks
If swimming with sharks in a confined space sounds right up your alley you’ll be glad to know you can do it in Singapore. Cosy up with up to 100 sharks at Sentosa’s . Admire the endangered scalloped hammerhead, silvertip and sandbar sharks, among nine other species. Don’t worry though, these big fish think you’re friends, not food.
Traverse Above The Treetops
Tucked among the treetops of you’ll find a free-standing suspension bridge that connects MacRitchie’s highest points; Bukit Kalang and Bukit Peirce. Pack plenty of water to combat the humidity and set out on the seven to 10 kilometre round trip TreeTop Walk. If you’re not a fan of heights you’ll need to steel your nerves before getting to the suspension bridge which reaches 25 metres above ground at its highest point. The bridge itself is only 250 metres long, so if you’re hating life up there in the forest canopy you can hustle your way out pretty fast. We predict you’ll get caught up in the beauty of the rainforest though.
Swim Up To Infinity
Even if you’re not afraid of heights, swimming up to the infinity edge of Marina Bay Sands’ pool 200 metres above the ground is enough to make your stomach do a somersault. Only guests of the hotel can swim, but the view alone is worth the pricy accommodation. You can always sip some champagne on a sun lounge to calm your nerves post-dip.

Once you’ve conquered the swing, the Bungy and Skybridge will be a piece of cake.
Duel Your Mates On A High-Speed Coaster
It would be remiss of us to not include in this list, even if the thrills might be a little obvious. Depending on the level of screams you’re looking for, they’ve got you covered. The Battlestar Galactica: HUMAN vs. CYLON ride is a top-tier thrill ride. Described as a high-speed, turbulent, duelling rollercoaster, pick your side and nervously pull down your padded harness before accelerating to speeds up to 90 kilometres per hour. One of the coasters goes faster and the other spins you upside down—pick your poison. Once you’ve conquered that one the Revenge of the Mummy and Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure are a cinch.
