The Verdict
L’Chaim is the mysterious underground bar at the historic Old Synagogue in Fremantle and it’s worth hunting down. Named after the Hebrew toast ‘to life’, you can expect high class drinks in old world confines—think: plush booths, moody lighting and a grand old piano which does get played on occasion.
If you get hungry while you’re down here but you can’t bear the thought of moving, never fear. You can order a bite to eat from any of The Old Synagogue’s other venues. Treat yourself to Asian spices from Tonic & Ginger, modern Australian from Mr Chapple’s or epic pub grub from The Arbor to go with your L’Chaim speciality cocktail.
