The Verdict

Firmly entrenched in the hip William Street gang, the uber-cool Bivouac serves up delicious Eastern-style fare that is perfect for sharing and always hits the spot. Open from lunch til late every day from Tuesday til Saturday, this Northbridge restaurant also doubles as a gallery showcasing the work of local artists on the walls.

Since opening way back in 2011 (where have those years gone?!), this joint has remained firmly in our list of favourite restaurants in Perth. With a delicious range of vegetarian, meat-based and sweet share plates—think grilled haloumi and honey, smokey beets with cashew whip, and slow-glazed goat shoulder—it’s menu perfectly serves both the bite-and-go diners and all-night grazers. If you’re leaning more towards the lengthy feast, though, you may as well go with the ‘feed me’ option and let them bring you a hand-picked selection of tasty treats. Throw in one of their delightful custom cocktails or a bottle from the exceptional wine menu and you’re in for one helluva night.
