Completely free from plastic, waste and single-use products, there are hundreds of stalls, food trucks, live music, family-friendly wellness activities, coastal cleanups and a mug library so you don’t have to drop a disposable coffee cup in general waste.

Hank’s Corner Cafe
64A Scarborough Beach Rd, North Perth
is one of those cute, cosy cafes that immediately feel like home. With a concise menu of elevated, nostalgic brunch dishes like their oozing Welsh Rarebit and golden-crumb-encrusted scotch eggs, you'll not only be eating well here, but doing good for the environment, too.
The counter, shelving, and kids' area have all been made using recycled and reclaimed materials, while the eclectic range of mismatched crockery and cutlery have all been sourced from op shops. Plus, the coffee cups are home compostable.
There's a bin where you can drop your 10¢ containers to stop them ending up in general waste, and the friendly folk behind the coffee machine will gladly take your pre-loved Keep Cups to pass on to a new owner.
The Beach Bus

You’ll likely be familiar with the retro turquoise bus perched by Mosman Park’s dog-friendly beach. has been dishing up some of Perth’s most ‘grammable acai bowls and espressos every summer for a few years now, but did you know it’s also 100% battery and solar-powered?
These guys don’t mess around when it comes to sustainability. They recycle all their plastics, compost their green waste, and any leftover bread goes to the chooks that lay the eggs for their baked treats. How good.
Bottega Deli
70 Bay View Terrace, Claremont
This family-run corner store is changing the way we think about leftovers. Run by sisters Annabella and Victoria La Pegna, has embraced Italy’s famed la cucina povera or ‘kitchen of the poor’ since it opened in late 2023, utilising seasonal and local ingredients and minimising food waste through creative use.
The result is hearty, homestyle classics exploding with flavour, with very few scraps going in the bin. Choose from a rotating range of pasta and paninis from the deli counter, or pick up a pre-packaged artisan product from the shelves—a perfect feel-good prezzie for the person who's impossible to buy for.
