There are a few factors that constitute a good dance floor. Music is a big one, obviously. You want it to be crowded, but not cramped. Dark, but not dingy. Adequate airflow is important, as is accessibility to the nearest bar.

A secret bar WITHIN a secret bar, Toots is Northbridge’s disco dance bar hiding in plain sight. To find Toots, you’re first going to need to find Sneaky Tony’s, the hidden speakeasy bar somewhere down a back alley in Chinatown. Next, you’re going to have to know the password: ask the bartender “Is Toots in?” for access. Once inside, expect 70s tunes, old school cocktails (Appletini, anyone?!), and disco balls a plenty.
Si Paradiso

With all-day dancing, drinking and dining, this retro-Italian wonderful is a one-stop shop for a good time. Part amphitheatre, part cocktail bar and part underground dance club, it’s the latter where you’ll find some of Perth’s best DJs behind the decks, with regular appearances from interstate talent causing a raucous on the dance floor. Pop in for a Euro-style Sunday sesh with $2 oysters, cocktail carafes, pizza specials and Paradiso DJs.

If you're chasing mind-bending beats and boiler room vibes, you'll feel right at home at . The venue attracts some of the coolest DJs from all over, with different nights showcasing everything from old school hip hop and afro beats to thumping electronica and techno.
Connections
Northbridge
Believed to be the longest running gay club in the southern hemisphere, Connections is a staple in Perth’s nightlife. Since 1975, it has provided a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community. There’s something for everyone at Connections, from drag shows by Perth’s most talented queens and mid-week ‘Bingay’ nights to sets from international DJs, so keep an eye on the to find out what’s on.

In the space that previously housed The Manor, Purple is Leederville’s late-night bar and club providing party vibes every Saturday night until the early hours of Sunday morning. Unlike its precursor which was predominantly a hip hop bar, the focus at Purple is electronic music, with sets from both local and touring artists every weekend. This multi-level playhouse is home to a restaurant, theatre, basement bar and rooftop. And with all that space, they've always got loads on throughout the building each weekend. From the coolest live gigs in the huge heritage hall to the filthiest DJ takeovers in the dungeon-like Goodwill Basement Club, scene is super inclusive and always a good time.

Affectionately known as The ‘Gog, this Freo favourite is home to The Arbor—a multi-story pub that welcomes and encourages cutting shapes on the dance floor. As well as serving elevated pub grub in the beer garden and tap-poured beers on the rooftop deck, a dedicated downstairs space is made for dancing. When you’ve found the glowing neon sign you’ll know you’re in ‘the naughty corner’, The Abor’s dedicated subterranean dance space.

We can't talk Perth clubs without giving a mention. It's your classic big club experience with VIP booths, multiple rooms, regular party nights throughout the week and a whole lotta neons. Above the dancefloor they've also got a pretty insane LED light system that moves with the music that will blow your boozed up little mind. For more classic rock and indie vibes, you can always head to their connect club, Amplifier, for a dance and a bowl in their on-site alley.

Since the early 1990s, this all-inclusive club has been the home of drag performances, cabaret shows, guest DJs and Perth’s rowdiest dance floor. Today, the LGBTQIA+ friendly venue boasts three different dance floors, a dedicated RnB room, a cocktail lounge, a rooftop terrace and a sprawling beer garden. An infectiously good time for all that partake, there’s a reason The Court has stood the test of time and remains as popular as ever.
Jack Rabbit Slim’s

Named after the fictional eatery in Pulp Fiction where the iconic twist contest took place, Jack Rabbit Slims is the late-night (or early morning?) live music joint open until 5am. Covering all genres of music, on any given weekend there'll be DJ sets on one night and Mamamia tributes the next. Tear up the dance floor like Mia and Vincent then refuel on fries and boozy shakes at the adjoining retro diner.
Goody Two’s

Every Friday, Perth’s underground Japanese whiskey and cocktail bar Goody Two’s transforms into a full-tilt dance party with Fridays at Goody’s. There’s , Izakaya bar snacks and throwback dance tracks to get you moving. As always, Goody’s five-page whiskey menu will also be on offer including top-shelf Japanese bottles.
El Grotto

Scarborough's sometimes-sweaty, always-fun seaside Mexican cantina ups the ante every Friday and Saturday as local DJs and bands take the stage. Loosen up with a tequila shot and then hit the dance floor for late-night loud tunes by some of Perth’s best homegrown artists.
