The Verdict
Depot Eatery is many things—a cracking bar, an oyster-lovers paradise, and one of Auckland's best restaurants. Perched high on the hill in Auckland's CBD this little all-rounder is a warm and welcoming recluse for wine lovers and foodies alike. Freshly shucked oysters are the star of the show, but it's hard to put a foot wrong when ordering from the epic share plates. Chef Al Brown has created a seasonal menu with a strong focus on New Zealand produce, and the result are pretty darn delicious. Depot also does breakfast with a tidy little menu including beignettes, bacon and egg doonas, and coffee served from 7am.
Depot does not take bookings so get in early - you've been warned!
