Synthony, The Banging Orchestral Dance Concert Is Coming To Auckland Domain

Ever wanted to hear Calvin Harris' One Kiss in C Minor with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra? Welcome to the world of —a worldwide movement that pairs famous orchestras with flat-cap-wearing DJs to host wall-to-wall banger fests.

And it’s coming back to Auckland with a major difference in 2023—transforming into a boutique outdoor festival at Auckland Domain! 

Yes, you read that right, for one glorious day, Pukekawa will transform into a full-blown multi-sensory extravaganza experience bringing together a rad fusion of electronic dance music, live orchestra, DJs, internationally acclaimed performers, and spectacular visuals over seven hours and two stages.

Here’s what to expect. The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra will take to the stage with acclaimed conductor Sarah-Grace Williams taking up the baton, alongside some of New Zealand’s best up-and-coming DJs and live performers including Ilan Kidron (The Potbelleez), Savage, Ella Monnery, Jeremy Redmore, Bella Kalolo and more to be announced. The whole motley crew will then assault your frontal cortex with dance floor bangers from the last 30 years of electronica including tunes from Wilkinson, Flume, Calvin Harris, Dizzee Rascal, Disclosure, and The Killers. No Mozart, we promise. 

Plus, there'll be a brand new Synthony set list curated by DJ Dick Johnson, hosted by Aroha and with musical arrangements by renowned composer Ryan Youens. Get in.

The domain will also be decked out in your usual Berlin-underground mix of lasers, smoke machines, strobes and mapped video projections.
