Our picks? Check out Will Farrell in a serious role for once (not that we don't love the lovable goof) in The Shrink Next Door then get your girl power fix with Bad Sisters.

Your Friends & Neighbours

Apple TV has gone all out with its latest original, Your Friends & Neighbours. Starring Jon Hamm—in what some critics are calling his best role since Mad Men—the story follows a disgraced hedge fund manager who resorts to stealing from his ridiculously wealthy neighbours to make ends meet after losing his job. By doing so, he uncovers a heap of dangerous secrets and affairs that lurk beneath the glossy surface of his peers’ lives. Your Friends & Neighbours premieres with two episodes on Friday, April 11, with new episodes released weekly until May 30. Season 2 was also commissioned before Season 1 even dropped, which we’re taking as confirmation that it’s pretty good.

The Studio

Starring Seth Rogen, Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz and Chase Sui Wonders, The Studio is a comedy-drama following the newly appointed head of a Hollywood movie studio (played by Rogen)  as he struggles to balance the ridiculous, powerful, and ridiculously powerful forces behind the scenes. Created by a multi-award-winning team including Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, it’s a brilliantly funny Hollywood satire stuffed to the brim with outstanding A-list cameos. You can stream the first two episodes of The Studio on Apple TV+ from March 26, with the remaining eight episodes released every Wednesday.

The Shrink Next Door

Starring Paul Rudd and Will Ferrell, you’d expect The Shrink Next Door to be a laugh a minute. But, while this dark comedy-drama has its moments, it’s more of a “I can’t believe this actually happened to someone” kind of vibe. The limited series is based on a true-crime podcast and follows the story of psychologist  Dr. Ike Herschkop (Rudd) who manipulates his way into his patient, Marty’s life (played by Ferrell) and takes advantage of him financially for the next three decades. It can feel a little slow at times, but if you’re a Rudd or Ferrell fan (and, quite frankly, why wouldn’t you be?), you’ll enjoy seeing them both play the opposite of their usual roles.

Schmigadoon!

Featuring an ensemble cast led by Cecily Strong (SNL) and Keegan-Michael Key (Friends From College, Parks and Recreation), Schmigadoon! is both a spoof and a love letter to musicals simultaneously. Following an on-the-rocks couple as they find themselves trapped in a magical yet wildly outdated land, it explores their trials and tribulations as they learn lessons about love, compromise, and happiness via a series of elaborate numbers based on the Golden Age of musicals. The second series follows the same premise but progresses into the darker themes of 60s and 70s musicals like Chicago and Sweet Charity. If you like musicals, you’ll love Schmigadoon!

Loot

Maya Rudolph can do no wrong. She’s brilliantly ridiculous in every role—including 45-year-old divorcee Molly Novak, who becomes the third wealthiest woman in the world after leaving her cheating tech-billionaire husband. Created by Matt Hubbard and Alan Yang, Loot follows Molly’s adventures as she attempts to get involved in the day-to-day operations of a charitable foundation she forgot she founded. Combining heartache, a mid-life crisis of epic proportions, and scathing commentary around the ridiculousness of billionaires, it’s a fun, comforting, and easy watch.

Slow Horses

This action-packed drama is based on Mick Herron’s spy novel series, Slough House and follows a team of MI5 rejects as they try to foil a kidnapping that could threaten national security. Relegated to the dud office away from the action, they fight to be taken seriously while navigating a heap of corruption and cover-ups that run deep in the country’s government agencies. Starring the ridiculously talented Gary Oldman as the team’s foul-mouthed and infamous leader, Jackson Lamb, it’s as funny as it is thrilling. So, if you like big-budget yet gritty British spy dramas - this one’s worth a watch.

Bad Sisters

Like dark Irish comedies with plenty of whodunnit twists? You’ll love Bad Sisters. It’s based on the Belgian series, ‘Clan’ and was developed by Dave Finkel, Brett Baer, and Sharon Horgan (who also stars in it).
