If anyone could save 2021, it’s Channing Tatum gyrating on stage to Ginuwine’s Pony. While we can’t get Tatum himself to our humble shores, we can get 16 of his proteges to dazzle you with their impressive physiques and jaw-dropping moves. The boys from will be swinging their stuff when the show opens on Tuesday 29 June.
After the success of Magic Mike the film, Tatum launched the 360-degree live dance show in Las Vegas (and then London) and unsurprisingly, people went wild for it.
Described as an “immersive, thrilling, dance and acrobatic spectacular based on the hit movies”, we’re more than a little stoked to get the chance to see it IRL (and potentially be pulled on stage).
“You’re going to get what you saw in the movies, but we really wanted to make it more. It's not just a dance show, it’s not just a strip show, it’s funny, it’s fun,” Channing Tatum told Sunrise when announcing the show last year.
Whatever it is, we want in!
Even better, is taking place in the world’s largest Spiegeltent, The Arcadia, just by Birrarung Marr. Spread over two stories, the purpose-built venue will feature a 360-degree stage (although Tatum says every surface in there is a possible dance floor), plus a food hall, bars and indoor/outdoor lounge areas for you to catch your breath in at the interval.
