If you haven’t heard of . yet, firstly, you’re missing out, and secondly, allow us to introduce you. Since opening in Burleigh Heads in August 2024, this authentic Italian street food joint has quickly garnered a cult-like following (for very good reason).

Brought to us by the teams behind Gold Coast favourites and ., Piada Co. fuses traditional Italian eats with modern street food energy and they’re now taking their game-changing concept to Byron Bay.

The concept of Piada Co. was sparked by a trip to Italy in late 2023 and, boy, aren’t we glad. Born from a deep passion for European cuisine and top-notch hospitality, the team is dedicated to their mission in bringing damn good Italian street food to the Gold Coast—and now Byron Bay.

The team describe Piada Co. as ‘modern Italian street food like you’ve never seen before. We’re all about chopping the boundaries of tradition and taking a stand against boring food.’ We dig it. The extensive menu heroes their signature piadinas alongside street food staples like suppli (arancini), burrata bowls, and calamari fritti.

Now, what’s a piadina you ask? The team tells us that food carts on every street corner in Romagna have been pumping out these bad boys for a very, very long time. Essentially, it's a round flatbread cooked crispy and stuffed with whatever you could possibly conjure up. There are many traditional variations of the piadina, but the Piada Co. team have put their own creative spin on things.

Now, let’s talk about Byron Bay. Off the back of their wildly successful Burleigh outpost, the Piada Co. team is setting up shop in Byron, but they’re mixing things up—and not just with the ocean views. By day, it’s their classic Burleigh menu—piadinas, arancini and cannoli—but come nightfall, Piada Co. transforms into a vibrant pizza and pasta joint.

On the pizza front you can dig into levelled-up classics like the Truffle Shuffle with mozzarella, mushrooms, truffle oil and basil alongside new favourites like the Spicy Slice with pomodoro, mozzarella, hot salami, nduja, honey and Byron Bay stracciatella. Pastas keep it simple with four winners—gnocchi vodka al forno, rigatoni ragu, spaghetti gamberi and tagliatelle funghi.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Piada Co. venue without their much-loved street snacks which are also available in the evening including focaccia, arancinis and burrata bowls. As hard as it may be, try to save room for the Italian-inspired desserts including cannolis, gelato, tiramisu (and a Biscoff tiramisu too) and affogato. Add an Aperol spritz or one of their much-loved canned fresh frappes into the mix and now we’re talking.

Piada Co. Byron Bay will be serving their classic piadinas from 10am to 5pm daily before switching to pizza and pasta from 5pm until late daily.
