Big things are happening on Stradbroke Island—the legendary is getting a serious glow-up. Kicking off renovations from 1 April 2025, this local institution is set to return bigger, better, and even more iconic when it reopens later in the year.

The revamp is all about elevating the beachfront experience, while keeping that laid-back, community feel that makes The Beach Hotel so loved. Expect a weatherproof deck (hello, all-season sunset drinks), an expanded function space with insane views of Cylinder Beach, and huge LED screens for sports lovers and outdoor movie nights. Plus, there’ll be a dedicated live music stage to keep the good vibes rolling.

Getting there will be easier than ever too, with a new courtesy bus service running from Dunwich to the pub, making group hangs and functions even more seamless.

The Beach Hotel will be taking a short break while renovations are underway, but in the meantime, their bottle shops and luxury apartments will remain open—so you can still stock up or book an island escape.
