The Verdict

Bringing peachy interiors, chilled vibes and some seriously snappable breakfasts to Hawthorne, Sister Cafe is sibling to New Farm fave Miss Jones and worth travelling south of the river for. On the menu, envy-inspiring dishes like breakfast gnocchi with mushroom ragu and bacon crumb and gingerbread waffles with cinnamon custard and honeycomb gelato are definitely the stars of the show, but there’s also some spruced up classics like Asian-style pork-belly benedict served on potato hash and smashed avo on toast with corn cream.

For lunch you’ll find the likes of cauliflower tacos and wagyu cheeseburgers on the menu, but don’t worry brunch lovers—the breakfast menu is available all day long. Coffee comes courtesy of Sydney roasters Single O (and be sure to check out the gorgeous peach hued La Marzocco machine pouring it while you’re there), with cold-pressed juices and hot chocolates on the drinks list for non-caffeinated types.
