If you missed the news that Brisbane CBD’s  has just reopened after a $30 million transformation, here’s an extra tidbit of info that might get your attention—the swanky accommodation comes with a stunning new restaurant inside. Taking pride of place on the lobby level of the luxurious hotel, Dapl is a botanically-themed modern Australian dining destination where you can indulge in diverse native flavours, ingredients and libations. 

Decked out in muted, earthy tones in a natural palette, the venue’s central feature is an eye-catching botanical mural that adorns an entire wall, which alludes to the creative, seasonal feast to come. Executive Chef Jamie Renfry has designed a menu that features everything from strawberry gum infused oil drizzled on gooey burrata to eucalyptus honeycomb paired with Jaffa delice, with mains like peppermint gum lamb backstrap and warrigal green gnocchi in lemon myrtle cream in between.

If you want to really dive into native Australian ingredients, the bush-spiced kangaroo loin with Davidson plum jus is sublime, as are the scorched king prawns with tomato bisque and karkalla. It's native Australia on a plate, but unlike anything you've tried. The friendly staff will also guide you through the menu and can provide curated recommendations. 

You can explore the line up of dishes a la carte or opt for a two or three-course set menu, while the drinks list features booze masters like 23rd Street Distillery and local legends Revel Brewing Co, along with thoughtfully curated wines. And good to know—they also do a buffet breakfast with eggs cooked to order for $38pp.
