The verdict

Classic, old school pub meets modern microbrewery at this epic brewhouse on Brisbane’s southside, the second location for Brisbane Brewing Co, with the first just over in West End. The heritage-listed venue is a mainstay of the Woolloongabba streetscape, with a presence dating way back to the 1860s. Thankfully, the brewhouse has undergone a reno or two since its early days, livening up the decor to suit its inner-city clientele. Now, it serves as a craft beer house, bistro, bottle-o and sports bar, with a loyal following of customers who just can’t get enough of Brisbane Brewing Co's frothy in-house brews. With 16 taps to showcase their core range, plus a few seasonal releases, it doesn’t matter if you’re a lager lover, or an ale aficionado—you’re bound to find something that washes away the work week just the way you like it.

With a long and varied menu that caters to even the fussiest foodies among us, the hardest part of dining here is choosing what to eat. Their menu is a mix of classic pub fare and modern Australian dishes guaranteed to get you drooling. You can’t go wrong ordering a mozzarella parmi, or indulging in a plant-based barbecue burg so good it just might convert you to the meat-free lifestyle. Whatever you choose, be sure to pair it with an appropriate bevvy to really make the most of Brisbane Brewing Co's fresh, seasonal flavours.
