Captivating burlesque shows and hints of Vegas aren’t too far away from us thanks to famed Gold Coast spiegelclub, The Pink Flamingo, but we’ve got a ripped abs, feathers, tight buns and glitter-filled surprise for you—the sexy entertainment destination has made its way up the coast to Brisbane this year, opening a second venue right here in Northshore.
Having landed in 2019, the Gold Coast’s Pink Flamingo was the first of its kind in the world, bringing some much-needed spice to the Broadbeach strip. Now we can enjoy the glitz and glamour of the speigelclub in our own backyard, with the second venue popping by the river in Hamilton, housed in a semi-permanent pavilion. A spectacular custom-built structure that seats up to 400 has been erected at the site, where it will stay for the next seven years before being taken down in time for the 2032 Olympics.
Featuring a multi-purpose stage fit for the venue’s dazzling cabaret, acrobatics and comedy-filled shows, the pavilion may only be semi-permanent, but it feels anything but. With a similar fit to its grand sister venue, Brisbane can look forward to swanky art-deco decor, luxe pink velvet booths and gold trim. Basically, prepare to be wowed.
Flying into the precinct will be three fierce, feisty and fabulous productions, Suave, La Teaze and Ripped, all starring home-grown and international stars. You can catch one of eight performances each week and we can already feel Brisbane heating up from the spicy luxury that has taken the stage by storm.
The hospitality and showbiz gurus behind the venue, Tony Rigas and Sue Porrett, were eager to bring their wild and unexpected world to Brisbane and captivate a whole new audience. “Why should Brisbane wait for festivals to experience a glitter-bomb of shows, kaleidoscopes of colour on stage, and limit-pushing performances of a world standard? The city shouldn’t, and that’s why we are so thrilled to open The Pink Flamingo Spiegeland Brisbane,” said Sue.
Along with jaw-dropping entertainment, our pink feathered friends are serving up handcrafted cocktails and simple but tasty bites from their onsite bar, making it a one-stop destination for girls’ night. However with Eat Street right next door, you can also start the fun early, and hit up the iconic street food precinct for a bite before a show.
Tickets can be found for each of the three shows, so gather the flock and get booking.
