Now in its 113th year, International Women’s Day offers an opportunity to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of womxn (an inclusive term for those who don't identify with traditional notions of "womanhood"), and reflect on and acknowledge ongoing global gender disparity. In 2024, the official IWD theme is #InspireInclusion, which encourages the celebration of diversity and empowerment.
With International Women’s Day officially falling on Friday 8 March, here are 11 Brisbane events at which you can mark the occasion and get motivated to #InspireInclusion in your spaces.
