ANZAC Day is around the corner and the public holiday just wouldn’t be complete without a game or two of two-up in celebration of our honoured diggers. Popularised by Australian soldiers during World War I, two-up has continued to be a firm tradition in ANZAC Day festivities nationwide.

The Regatta Hotel

Brews and bites are the name of the game when it comes to ANZAC Day at , but two-up is definitely also on the agenda. Opening from 5am for all your post-dawn service feed needs, festivities will kick on throughout the day (two-up kicks off at 1pm) with a slew of talented local musicians gearing up as the evening rolls around. Playing two-up to a killer soundtrack from our very own local legends or kicking back with a beer in one hand and a snag in the other? Sign us up.
The Prince Consort
230 Wickham St, Fortitude Valley
will be hosting a day filled with remembrance, camaraderie, and entertainment, complete with two-up in the Garden Bar from 1pm. When hunger strikes, the kitchen has teed up a smoker sausage sizzle to fuel you for only $5 and if that isn’t tempting enough, you can grab a steak and cheese pie for only $7. There will also be fundraising in support of RSL and of course, plenty of ANZAC biccies to go around.
Howard Smith Wharves
5 Boundary St, Brisbane City
is joining the two-up game this ANZAC Day, while supporting and honouring veterans in the community with historic vehicle displays, a raffle with amazing prizes, and donations raising funds for City-New Farm RSL. After a hearty lunch from one of the venues, all of which will be open for the day, you can head to the Felons Lawn for a game of two-up from 1pm, then stay for live music from 3pm.
The Glen Hotel
24 Gaskell St, Eight Mile Plains
Southsiders, don’t fret, there’s plenty of two-up opportunities for you at without the dreaded trek into the city. The Deck, the Glen’s bistro and bar, will be open from 11:30am, with the iconic two-up tournament kicking off at 1pm. Specials will abound on the day so don’t forget to tuck into some traditional Aussie fare in between rounds of two-up. Look out Glen-goers, we’re coming for you.
Riverbar & Kitchen
71 Eagle St, Brisbane City
knows more than a thing or two about Australia’s favourite ANZAC tradition. Starting from 12pm, a round oof two-up here comes with a river view, along with the rest of the celebrations. Beer will also flow aplenty from the bar, with a Karma Keg of Balter XPA to help raise funds for Legacy, along with donations taken on the day.
Story Bridge Hotel
200 Main St, Kangaroo Point
There’s no better place to partake in ANZAC Day than right in the heart of Brisbane, at the iconic . They’re opening at 6:30 am to sort all of your dining needs for the day, before beginning with ANZAC Day activities at 2pm after the Last Post is played at 1:45pm—all while raising money for RSL.
The Boundary Hotel
137 Boundary St, West End
A West End institution, will be opening doors from 10am on ANZAC Day for you to enjoy a post-service meal or relaxed lunch. Once it hits 1pm, their backyard area will be the place to be for two-up, accompanied by live music all afternoon.
The Normanby Hotel
1 Musgrave Rd, Red Hill
is prepared for a full day of activities this ANZAC Day, ready to host you from 10am. The two-up ring will take over from 12pm to 3pm, giving you plenty of time to get in a round. Live music will also be on hand to set the scene.
