Summer may be another month away, but things are already heating up at The Star Sydney. You can take a pit stop at Sports Bar to watch the F1, sing along with a live band at Rock Lily, click your heels three times and fly into the Lyric Theatre, and experience the best of Japan’s night life at Sokyo—all in one weekend.
With Sydney’s balmy summer evenings and many a night of revelry on the horizon, it’s time to clear your calendar and line up some dancing, dining and drinking after dark at Here’s our top picks from The Star’s extensive summer line up of events.

White Claw at Rock Lily
Put on your dancing shoes and warm up those vocal chords, White Claw is taking over every weekend in summer with singalong live music, boogie beats, cold cans and good vibes. Starting on November 17, a series of local bands will grace the Rock Lily stage every Friday from 8pm, performing all the throw-back tracks and iconic classics that you know and love. On Saturdays, local DJs will be behind the decks, spinning your favourite RnB tunes that are guaranteed to get you on the dance floor. Entry is free all weekend with prizes to be won each night.
WICKED at The Sydney Lyric Theatre
Somewhere over the rainbow—at The Star’s Lyric Theatre, specifically—Broadway’s smash-hit musical is taking the stage. Long before Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the Cowardly Lion were on the scene, Wicked follows the friendship and rivalry of the emerald green-skinned Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) and ever-popular Glinda (the Good Witch) as they defy both expectations and, you guessed it, gravity. There’s loads of pre- and post- theatre dining options within The Star that will have you in and out within an hour, from Sokyo and BLACK Bar and Grill to Flying Fish and Cucina Porto.
With just three months left of the season, final tickets are selling fast—but that’s show biz, baby. Nab yourself a ticket to the land of Oz while you still can to witness the magic of Wicked firsthand.
